Major Netherlands premiere for John Psathas
Zeibekiko, a work conceived and created for the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble by John Psathas in celebration of the heritage of Greek music from antiquity and the present day, received its premiere performance in the Netherlands on 21 April 2004. The internationally-renowned NBE was joined by Greek traditional musicians Manos Achalinotopoulos and Vagelis Karypis to present the programme, which included music by Psathas and the Canadian composer Christos Hatzis.
